ActivLives is celebrating International Day for Older Persons in Ipswich on Monday with a song and social stand in Sailmakers shopping centre.
Volunteers from the organisation will have a stand at the centre from 10.30am-2.30pm, where older people in the community can come and say hello, find out what ActivLives offers such as community gardening, sport, and volunteering.
Community singing group Keep on Rockin’ will also be present to sing a song or two.
Julie Stokes, ActivLives chief executive, said: “If you have recently moved to the area, have lost a partner or feel lonely or just want to get out and meet and make new friends as well as taking part in an activity, then ActivLives has a wide range of activities from community gardening, sport, singing, keeping mobile and volunteering to get people out and about.”
