An air ambulance was called to the Suffolk Retail Park in Ipswich on Saturday afternoon after reports of a person being injured on site.

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was diverted to the retail park, on the junction of London Road and Yarmouth Road.

It is believed that the casualty was a young boy, aged five or six, who got his hand trapped in an escalator – and was later taken to Ipswich Hospital.

However a spokeswoman for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance said they could give not confirm any details about the injured person, who was left in the care of the East of England Ambulance Service.
