Staff at an Ipswich cinema have apologised to customers after experiencing problems with the facility’s air conditioning unit during the hot weather.

People visiting Cineworld in Cardinal Park expressed their frustration on social media – with one cinema-goer suggesting one of the screens was like a “furnace” – after the organisation posted about the issue on Facebook.

On July 26, representatives for the facility said: “We’re sorry that it’s hotter than usual due to an issue with our air conditioning unit.

“We are working hard to resolve this and appreciate your patience.

“The enjoyment of our customers is our priority so we will be offering water to those who need it, and if you become too uncomfortable, please feel free to speak to a member of staff at any time.

“Apologies again for any inconvenience and we will endeavour to keep you updated with any changes.”

But chiefs have since admitted that the issue is still not fixed – but they hope to have it repaired by the end of this week.

This weekend, they wrote on Twitter: “Our team are working to get this issue resolved as soon as possible and are working to have the issue resolved by the end of next week.

“In the meantime our team are more than happy to provide cold water to help you keep cool.”
