AN Ipswich amateur boxer has today been cleared of stealing from a 17-year-old woman.
The jury at Ipswich Crown Court took around three and a half hours to reach its not guilty verdicts.
Chudi Eze, 20, of Sirdar Road, was found not guilty of blackmail, stealing the woman's video recorder and stereo, stealing £5,000 from her grandfather's account and obtaining a money transfer by deception.
Eze told police he did not threaten the woman and force her to give him the video recorder and stereo. He said they were a gift from her.
He also denied seeing a cheque for £5,000 and was surprised that his fingerprints were found on it.
Eze was discharged from the dock by Judge John Devaux.
