POLICE searching for missing prostitute Tania Nicol have carried out anniversary checks in the area she disappeared.

The 19-year-old is one of two young vice girls to have vanished in Ipswich and has now been missing for three weeks.

Officers spent last night and the early hours of today stopping pedestrians and vehicles in the Handford Road and Burlington Road areas of Ipswich, known to have been visited by Tania, in a bid to find information to help their investigation.

She left her home in Woolverstone Close, at about 10.30pm on Monday, October 30, with the intention of going into town to work as a prostitute.

It is understood that Tania planned to catch a bus from Belmont Road. CCTV footage from buses has been checked but to date officers have not been able to trace whether Tania did do this.

Detectives have reviewed CCTV footage from the town and there is a positive sighting of Tania walking in front of the exit of Sainsbury's garage on London Road at 11.02pm on Monday, October 30.

The image shows her walking in the direction of the town centre.

Concern mounted on Wednesday last week after Gemma Adams, 25, failed to return home after also heading into town to work as a prostitute.
