Armed robbers target post office

RURAL post offices across Suffolk are a soft target it was claimed after the latest village in the county fell victim to violent criminals.

Customers looked on as the raiders burst into the post office at Smoke House Shopping Centre, Beck Row, near Mildenhall, just before 3pm yesterday.

ARMED raiders who burst into a post office at Smoke House Shopping Centre, Beck Row, near Mildenhall, are being hunted today.

One of the robbers was carrying what appeared to be a 9mm pistol and both men threatened the terrified staff, demanding they hand over money during the raid which happened just before 3pm yesterday.

A brave worker managed to activate the alarm inside the post office and the robbers panicked and fled empty-handed.
