A MAN has been arrested today following a police pursuit on the A14.

The 52-year-old is currently in police custody at Ipswich police station after the incident which started just after 10am this morning.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “Officers were called to an address in Kingfisher Avenue, Ipswich, to reports of a man trying to kick in the door of a property there.

“On police arrival the man got into his car and drove off, colliding with police vehicles who were attempting to stop him.

“Police followed the driver along Wherstead Road onto the A14 and eventually onto the West Meadows site where the vehicle was stopped and the man detained by officers, with assistance from residents on the site.

“Three police constables sustained minor injuries including cuts, bruises and abrasions in the incident.”

The man does not have any connection with the West Meadows site.
