POLICE have arrested a person at a Suffolk address today after reports of a man going berserk with a weapon, believed to be a sword.
The man was reported to be vandalising a home in Millfield Close, at Saxmundham.
One person sustained injuries during the drama in the residential street off Mill Rise, Mill Road.
It is believed the person suffered slight injuries although an East Anglian Ambulance Trust spokesman said paramedics were not called to the incident.
Police officers were called to the scene early this morning.
Scenes of crime officers remained at the property as the Evening Star went to press.
A resident who did not want to be named, said: "A man with a sword has smashed his home in Millfield Close.
"Two police cars have been smashed. The entire road is taped off with police cameramen taking pictures, and there are lots of other police in attendance."
It has not yet been confirmed whether the man was trying to get into his own home, or someone else's, and if it was he who was the injured party.
