Armed police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Ipswich on suspicion of possessing a firearm after stopping a vehicle in the town last night.
Units from the Norfolk and Suffolk Firearms Operations Unit recovered weapons, believed to be Airsoft pistols and rifles, from a vehicle they pulled over in Felaw Street at around 7.35pm.
They were originally called to Cardinal Park at around 7.18pm and managed to stop the vehicle nearby.
They later arrested a man in connection with the incident.
He was being held in custody overnight on suspicion of possessing a firearm in a public place, but was released this morning under investigation.
