A fire crew from Princes Street tackled the blaze at the park in north-west Ipswich at 8.45pm yesterday.

The incident, which was cleared by 9.25pm, is being treated as suspicious.

Vandals also struck earlier that day in Spring Road, at the junction with Britannia Road. They set ten metres of Conifer trees alight just before 5pm yesterday.

Firefighters from the service's headquarters in Colchester Road attended the incident, which was finished within minutes.
