A WOMAN died at her Ipswich home after suffering a massive asthma attack.
Gemma Caley was overwhelmed by the attack to such an extent that she was unable to call for an ambulance or alert her family.
The 23-year-old, of Chantry Green, died on April 10, five days after her birthday.
An inquest held yesterday heard that a post mortem found that her lungs were hyper-inflated.
Coroner Dr Peter Dean said the evidence suggested she died exclusively from acute bronchial asthma.
He said: “She was suffering from a severe asthma attack which was unresponsive to inhalers and she was unable to summon help.
“It happened very quickly. It was a very rapid course of events which overwhelmed her.”
Miss Caley was a mother to Finley and Harvey and is believed to have been six-months pregnant.
Dr Dean recorded a verdict of death from natural causes.
