JAMIE Garnham, 30, of Shakespeare Road, Ipswich, appeared before a jury at Ipswich Crown Court today charged with attempted rape.
The alleged attack against a 49-year-old woman, happened between 11.10pm on Friday June 28 and 3am on Saturday, June 29 this year in Maidenhall Green, Ipswich.
Police cordoned off the area following the alleged attack while a thorough search was made.
Garnham stood impassive as the jury were sworn in. The court was expected to hear evidence from the complainant later today.
