Balaclava raid on post office

ARMED police hunted for armed robbers with dog units and the force helicopter after an attempted robbery at a post office.

The incident at Welland Road post office in Peterborough happened at about 4pm today.

The incident at Welland Road post office in Peterborough happened at about 4pm today.

Two men entered and threatened staff with a gun, demanding cash. Staff refused and they fled empty-handed into a waiting gold car in which was a third person.

They wore black clothes and balaclavas, and a car matching the description was later found abandoned.
