The last pin has fallen for the current boss of a bowling alley in Ipswich, while a nearby restaurant closes its doors.
Bears American Bar & Restaurant in Star Lane near the Waterfront has shut but a new owner has already been found.
The business was launched at the beginning of 2014 by Charlie Manning, of Manning’s Amusements in Felixstowe.
The news of its closure was announced on the bar’s Facebook page, stating: “A big thank you to all our great customers for the last 3 years.
“The new owners will be in very soon and we wish them the best of luck, so please show them your support.”
A spokesman for Bears confirmed the bar had closed and that new owners would be taking over in the near future.
However, it is not known if the venue will stay as a bowling bar or if it will be used for a different purpose.
It has also been revealed via social media that Sweet P’s soul food restaurant on the corner of Upper Orwell Street and Eagle Street has closed in favour of a home delivery service.
A post on its Facebook page read: “With the rise of new restaurants coming into the town we understand that foot traffic for food is likely to stay in the centre of town and as such this affects our daily visitors.
“We have decided that it is no longer cost effective to open the shop as the costs of rent, staff, stock and utilities is sometimes more than what’s in the till.”
