IPSWICH Town legend Kevin Beattie delighted football fans this weekend when he signed copies of his new autobiography.
The former Portman Road hero was at the club's Planet Blue store and Legends Bar to meet and greet Blue's supporters who had bought copies of The Greatest Footballer England Never Had.
The book tells how Beattie, now a 53-year-old grandfather, reached the depths of despair after his glittering career was ended prematurely by injury.
Speaking in between signings, Beattie said: “We've had a great turn out and lots of people have been queuing up outside.
“It's fabulous to see this many people and I love being able to meet the fans because if it wasn't for them then I wouldn't be where I am today.”
He said the football club had already sold 200 copies of his book and that further prints had now been ordered.
The Greatest Footballer England Never Had is published by Cult Figure Publishing and copies are available from Planet Blue or www.cultfigurepublishing.com priced at £15.99.
