A WOMAN has been taken to hospital today after a bedroom fire in Ipswich.

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital today after a bedroom fire in Ipswich.

The 45-year-old suffered a burned foot as a result of the blaze in a two-storey detached house on Larchcroft Road in the Castle Hill area of the town.

Firefighters attended the house at about 10.10am but the fire was under control when they arrived.

The woman was then taken to Ipswich Hospital in an ambulance - but was expected to be allowed home later today.
