Police are still trying to establish exactly what caused the accident which left the 17-year-old girl, from the Haverhill area, fighting for her life at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
The crash happened yesterday morning on the A1017 at Haverhill.
The other driver involved in the incident - a man from Haverhill driving a VW Sharan - has since been released from Addenbrooke's in Cambridge.
A spokeswoman for the police said the officer dealing with the case had been in frequent contact with the injured girl's family at hospital.
She said the teen's condition remained critical but stable.
