The air ambulance landed in Belstead Road, Ipswich, this afternoon after a crash left a pedestrian with serious injuries.
Belstead Road was closed in both directions between Luther Road and Stone Lodge Lane to allow the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance to land.
Suffolk police were called to the accident at 3.30pm.
The male pedestrian suffered serious head injuries in the accident, which also involved a Volkswagen Polo, but was conscious and breathing.
He was taken to Ipswich Hospital via land ambulance for further treatment.
