Bethany Leach, of Little Stonham, Stowmarket is raising funds for the Somersham Ward Cancer Unit Support Group at Ipswich Hospital where her 48-year-old father, Kevin is being treated for acute myeloid leukaemia.

Her mother, Linda Leach, 46, said: “She has taken it quite hard but by raising money she felt it would help her dad and other people and it has helped her deal with it all.”

Bethany has managed to raise £300 in just two days by support from family, friends as well classmates and teachers from Debenham High School where she attends.

Mrs Leach said the whole family were devastated when her husband was diagnosed with cancer on October 30, but Bethany’s fundraiser had helped turned something negative into a positive.
