A RESCUE operation has been mounted after a wounded dolphin was spotted swimming through a city.
The 10-foot long Risso's dolphin was seen swimming in the River Clyde in Glasgow with a gash above its eye yesterday.
Volunteers from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) teamed with the local fire service in a bid to guide the confused creature back out to sea, but to no avail.
The rescue efforts will continue today.
