About 500 vehicles are due to make the run from Ipswich's Christchurch Park to Felixstowe seafront where they will spend the afternoon.

They will be led by two Ipswich Buses – one modern and one a historic machine from the Ipswich Transport Museum.

The cavalcade will be completed by Ipswich's stunning new gold and green bus.

This year's event is the 33rd annual historic vehicle run organised by the transport museum in association with Ipswich Buses.

Vehicles will assemble at Christchurch Park on tomorrow morning and will be flagged off by Ipswich mayor Richard Risebrow at noon.

The entire convoy is expected to take at least an hour to reach Felixstowe, where the vehicles will be on display along the seafront – extending from the Fludyers to beyond Manning's Amusement Centre.

There are more than 100 motorcycles entered and entries include early steam lorries, family saloon cars of the sixties, Rolls Royces from the 1930s, fire engines and Second World War military vehicles.

This popular event draws large crowds in the park and on the prom and many people watch from the roadside.

There is no charge to watch, but if you buy a programme from one of the many sellers you will help to keep the event viable.
