MEMBERS of a Suffolk bike club have raised more than £500 for St Elizabeth Hospice in support of Kesgrave Music Festival.

The FU MCC Bike Club presented a cheque for £535 to Laura Backhouse of the hospice in Foxhall Road, which was raised at their first St George's Day Bike Show at the Bell Inn, Kesgrave.

Part of the money will also go to The National Association of Bikers with a Disability.

The bike show organisers have thanked everyone who attended and supported the show, which helped to make it a great success. It is hoped it will become a regular event.

More money is expected to be raised at the Kesgrave Music Festival auction on Thursday, July 31, hosted by Ipswich Town football legend John Wark, at The Bell Inn.

There are more than 35 lots so far including a Haven Holiday, a plane flight over Suffolk, ITFC tickets and memorabilia and golf days.

All the money raised will go towards supporting the music festival, which takes place on Saturday, August 9, in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice and in memory of Kate Moyes, who lived in Kesgrave, and passed away in August 2005 after a spell in the hospice.

A four-for-three deal on pre-event tickets is available on the website. Pre-event tickets can also be used to get child concessions on the Route 66 bus service all day.

Every penny from tickets sales goes directly to the hospice. Tickets are on sale now on the website - www.kesgravemusicfestival.com - and in shops.
