A GIRL who went to celebrate her boyfriend's birthday has been left distraught after her car was stolen.

Rebecca Keeble, 17, had only passed her test three months ago and her Ford Fiesta was her pride and joy.

Rebecca had been out to celebrate her partner's 20th birthday with his parents and had parked her car near the Top Banana store on Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich.

However, when she returned it had gone and she was forced to call her parents in order to get home.

The J-registration vehicle is worth £1700 and also had stereo equipment worth £200. The police have been notified of its disappearance.

Rebecca, from Fairway, Bixley Farm, said: "I can't believe someone did this. I just left to go out for a meal with my boyfriend and we had had a really nice time.

"We came out about 9pm and couldn't see the car anywhere. I had to phone my mum and dad to get a lift home.

"We told the police immediately and they have all of the details. I haven't been driving that long. My car was a 1.1 litre model and I just hope it is found."

If you know the whereabouts of the car, contact Suffolk Police immediately on 01473 613500. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
