Blaze destroys roof of home.

MORE than 30 firefighters were called to tackle a blaze in the roof of a semi-detached house near Stowmarket. Fire crews from seven Suffolk towns and villages were sent to the property in Fishpond Way, Haughley.

MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze in the roof of a semi-detached house near Stowmarket today.

Fire crews from seven Suffolk towns and villages were sent to the property in Fishpond Way, Haughley, shortly after 9.50am.

Firefighters from Ipswich, Needham Market, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Debenham and Elmswell fought to contain the blaze from destroying the 30 metre by 20 metre building.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire Service said at least 30 per cent of the roof had been affected.

No one is believed to have been trapped inside the property or to have required medical attention.
