FIREFIGHTERS worked through the night to control a blaze engulfing more than 1,000 tonnes of bailed straw.
Crews were called to farmland close to Hurdle Drove, Beck Row in Mildenhall, shortly after midnight.
A spokesman from the fire service said two crews from Newmarket and one from Midenhall controlled the blaze by allowing it to burn out while ensuring it did not spread to the surrounding area.
Crews are still on the scene this morning to maintain a fire watch.
