FIREFIGHTERS tackled a van on fire following a crash on the A14 today.Two fire crews from Bury St Edmunds attended the scene on the westbound carriageway, near to the slip road to Risby, at 8.40am.

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a van on fire following a crash on the A14 today.

Two fire crews from Bury St Edmunds attended the scene on the westbound carriageway, near to the slip road to Risby, at 8.40am to find that two vehicles had collided, causing a van to catch alight.

One woman with chest pains was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance and the incident was finished by 8.50am.

There was also a three-vehicle crash on the westbound carriageway of the A14 at Barrow at 8.10am.

A black Saab, blue Rover, and white Ford transit van were in collision with each other. One woman motorist was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The accident closed one lane for a short time but recovery is now in place.
