AFTER three inches of overnight snow heavy falls hit the adjoining Trimley villages, and also Walton, from lunchtime onwards.
The High Road towards Felixstowe was impacted snow “like glass” according to drivers.
At least one earlier accident was reported and as conditions worsened drivers were picking their way slowly home.
One driver said: “It looks like many people from Ipswich and the Port of Felixstowe have decided to call it a day early and return home from work.”
By 3.30pm a total of around six inches of snow had fallen, threatening the rush-hour period.
