HAVE you ever wondered what it is really like behind the fence at Hollesley Bay Prison and Young Offenders Institution?
If so, a rare opportunity has arisen for individuals to play a role in the establishment – as members of the independent watchdog the Board of Visitors.
Board members have access to the institution at any time and are able to visit all areas of the establishment including workshops, kitchens and accommodation.
The work takes up time equal to about two to three days a month of their free time. Members are required to attend a Board meeting one a month and should ideally live within 20 to 30 miles of the establishment.
