LORD Ryder is poised to resign as an Ipswich Town director.

A long-term supporter of the club, he has already spoken to chairman David Sheepshanks about his desire to quit the board.

The news will stun supporters given the impression of a united boardroom at Portman Road.

Sheepshanks spoke at the weekend of changes at the top and confirmed new directors would be appointed.
