CAN he fix it?

Yes he can…

Bob the Builder was on hand in Ipswich to fix it for his team of young fans.

The children's TV favourite stunned shoppers when he paraded through the town centre joined by a merry team of friends – Santa, Mother Santa and their helpers.

Working together Bob and his gang waved to their young fans as huge crowds cheered him on.

The team journeyed from Tower Ramparts Shopping Centre yesterday down Westgate Street, Tavern Street and back to the centre.

Bob and his gang had so much fun which continued when they arrived at Tower Ramparts Shopping Centre just in time to get another job done – to launch Santa's grotto.

Shopping centre manager Mike Sorhaindo, was honoured by the special celebrity guest appearance, which coincides with the centre's 15th year birthday celebrations.

The character's visit was a culmination of a string of acts throughout the week including anti-static robots, Sunny and Rainbow clowns, plus Harry Enfield and company look-alikes.

But the entertainment at the shopping centre doesn't stop there.

It continued on Saturday where Topper's circus acts are set to thrill the hundreds of shoppers to help kick off the festive season.

Meanwhile, Bob the Builder's visit thrilled the crowds of youngsters who gathered around him to have their photo taken with the famous workman. All proceeds from the pictures will go to the Children in Need charity.

Mike was delighted with the success of the appearance of the cartoon character which delighted youngsters.

Referring to the coffee bar which is set to open in the shopping centre early next year, Mike said: "Bob's presence signals the end of the building work going on.

"He will give it his seal of approval."

Tower Ramparts is preparing space for coffee shop BB's which is set to open in the New Year.
