A BODY has been found in a burnt out car today following an accident in a Suffolk village.

Police sealed off Tuffin Lane, in Hinderclay, near Diss, after a car hit a tree and caught fire. No other car was thought to be involved.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the scene at 11.45am.

He added: “Officers were called following reports of a car colliding with a telegraph pole and was on fire.

“The fire service extinguished the fire and subsequently a body was found in the car and police are now in the process of identifying the deceased.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident. Anyone with any information should call Suffolk police on 01473 613500.
