The body of a man has been found in Trimley St Mary this afternoon.

Officers were contacted by a member of the public at around 1.15pm today to reports a man’s body had been found not far from Cordy’s Lane, on the Trimley Marshes nature reserve.

Police are currently at the scene and the death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.

However, there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

It is believed the family of missing Felixstowe man Michael Flatman has been informed of the find, though no formal identification of the body has yet been carried out.

Mr Flatman, 55, was last seen at 6.45pm yesterday.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call Suffolk police on 101, quoting CAD number 186 of today.
