POLICE today confirmed the body of missing 18-year-old Jonathan Barber had been found.

POLICE today confirmed the body of missing 18-year-old Jonathan Barber had been found.

Jonathan, of Downham Market in Norfolk, was discovered in the River Ouse by members of the county's police diving team at 11.35am today during a search of the waterway between Downham and Salters Lode.

Jonathan had gone missing at 3am on March 1 as he was walking home to Downham with friends along the banks of the river, following a night out in Salters Lode.

An extensive search of the area was conducted by various police units and other agencies including the coastguard, the RAF Search and Rescue helicopter, voluntary lowland search and rescue teams from Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, Norfolk Fire and Rescue and many of Jonathan's family and friends.

Police are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Jonathan's death and the inquiry has been handed to the coroner for further investigation.

An inquest will open in due course.
