Bogus caller strikes in Ipswich

A bogus caller has conned his way into an unsuspecting Ipswich pensioner's home to steal a quantity of cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crime that happened just before 1.

A bogus caller has conned his way into an unsuspecting Ipswich pensioner's home to steal a quantity of cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crime that happened just before 1.40pm on Tuesday.

A man called at an elderly man's home in the town's Nansen Road, claiming to be from the Water Board.

He was let in but after he had left, the elderly victim discovered his wallet containing a small quantity of cash had gone.

The artifice burglar was described as a white male, 5ft 8ins tall, and of around 40 years of age. He was wearing a checked shirt, jeans and trainers.
