Suffolk Trading Standards received just 19 complaints in November relating to pressure-selling or bogus callers compared to 30 between August and October this year. The number looks set to fall even further with only four complaints recorded so far this month.

As part of National Consumer Week last month, trading standards departments launched a campaign called Foot in the Door to advise people on handling cold callers.

Roger Hopkins, assistant county trading standards officer, said he was "absolutely delighted" with the fall in complaints in Suffolk.
