A boiler fire activated alarms at an Ipswich tower block, prompting the response of nine fire engines, on Friday night.
The small blaze was extinguished within a few minutes and was out by the time firefighters arrived at St Francis Court, shortly after 10.30pm.
Nine fire engines were sent to the scene; three from Ipswich East station, two from Princes Street, two from Woodbridge, and one from Holbrook and Needham Market.
A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said: “Because Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a tower block, more engines were mobilised.
“On arrival, a small boiler fire had been extinguished.”
