IPSWICH: A major project to improve unclassified road surfaces and pavements is getting under way this winter after the borough agreed to invest an extra 700,000 on repairs in this year's budget.
The additional cash will be added to the budget given for maintenance in the town by Suffolk County Council, the highways authority.
Tanya de Hoedt, the borough's councillor with responsibility for transport, said: “There are some areas in the town in need of urgent work. We have listened to concerns raised by residents of Ipswich.”
