A TEACHING union today warned yob culture must be stopped after an out-of-control 11-year-old threw a brick at an Ipswich headteacher.

A TEACHING union today warned yob culture must be stopped after an out-of-control 11-year-old threw a brick at an Ipswich headteacher.

Thurleston High School head Mike Everett was met with a stream of physical threats and foul-mouthed abuse when he confronted the child, who was trying to attack one of his pupils.

Prosecuting, David Taylor told magistrates sitting in Ipswich that the lout's intended target escaped when Mr Everett shouted at him to run away.

But the child turned and threw the brick at the teacher instead, Mr Taylor said.

The fresh-faced, slightly-built youngster was largely impassive after admitting the charge of threatening behaviour he faced at youth court.

Despite his age and appearance, it was not his first visit to the courts – he was already on an official final warning after previous offences.
