A 15-year-old Felixstowe boy who climbed a teenage girl's bedroom at night and was found with his trousers round his ankles has been placed on supervision for three years.

A 15-year-old Felixstowe boy who climbed a teenage girl's bedroom at night and was found with his trousers round his ankles has been placed on supervision for three years.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age was found guilty by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court of an offence of attempted indecent assault on an earlier occasion, and sentence was adjourned until yesterday for a pre sentence report and a psychiatric report.

Sentencing the boy Judge Nicholas Beddard said: "I am worried about you."

He said although the boy was only 15, he had committed a number of offences including burglary at the home of a girlfriend to steal money and a public order offence with sexual overtones on a train.

He said the boy had spent 11 weeks on remand in a young offenders' institution and he was reluctant to send him back to custody to mix with people who could lead him in the wrong direction.

Judge Beddard ordered the supervision order to run for three years until the boy is 18 and said he would have to sign on the sex offenders register for two and a half years.

Naomi Perry for the boy, said that he had not had the easiest of childhoods and had displayed signs of anti social behaviour from an early age.

She said a psychiatric report said the boy had a conduct disorder and the boy himself accepted that he needed help.

Miss Perry said that the girl who had woken up to find the defendant in her bedroom had recognised him and hadn't been overly frightened.

She said the boy still maintained his innocence and claimed he had only entered the house to steal.
