POLICE are questioning a teenager after a 14-year-old boy was “impaled” on a football goalpost.Firefighters were called to free the youngster at Beauchamps High School, in Wickford, Essex, at 10.
POLICE are questioning a teenager after a 14-year-old boy was “impaled” on a football goalpost.
Firefighters were called to free the youngster at Beauchamps High School, in Wickford, Essex, at 10.20am today.
It is believed the boy had become “impaled on a pole through the chest” on the school's sports field.
Headteacher Philip Bell said it had been a “terrible accident” and an investigation is under way.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said a teenage boy had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
The 14-year-old remains in a stable condition in hospital.
