Boy killed in horror crash

AN 11-year-old boy has been killed in St Ives after he was in collision with a car in the Cambridgeshire town.

Darryl Smith died from his injuries in Addenbrookes Hospital last night following the accident which happened at around 6.

Darryl Smith died from his injuries in Addenbrookes Hospital last night following the accident which happened at around 6.10pm.

The 34-year-old motorist from Shropshire who was driving the blue Vauxhall Corsa that was in collision with the youngster was not injured.

The area of Ramsey Road where the accident took place was closed off for five hours following the incident and Cambridgeshire police are now appealing for witnesses.

Also in Cambridgeshire seven people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 17-year-old Peterborough youth.

Ross Parker died when he was allegedly set upon by around a dozen Asian youths while walking in the city centre with his girlfriend.

Cambridgeshire police swooped on a number of addresses in Peterborough this morning and arrested the seven people on suspicion of murder.
