This is a first look at how a refurbished and converted former Tolly Cobbold brewery will be at the centre of a new housing development on Ipswich waterfront.
Cliff Quay Developments has outlined plans to convert the brewery into a new hub for homes, businesses, a conference centre and a wide range of cultural and leisure facilities.
The application is being managed by Bury St Edmunds-based Pigeon Investment Management Limited.
The old fermenting hall inside the brewery building will be converted into a 250 seat auditorium which will host lectures, entertainment and conferences, and there will also be an outdoor performance area.
The Brewery Tap will be integrated into the conversion.
A further 222 new homes will be built on surrounding land along with small retail, restaurant and café facilities and a health club – and a new home for the Ipswich Transport Museum.
