SUFFOLK brewer Tolly Cobbold has released its new ale for the winter season.

Old Strong, will be available in pubs across the county until January, and promises to quench the thirst of punters seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush.

The Turks Head in Hasketon was the venue for the launch, and landlord Chris Punchard was very pleased to welcome Old Strong to his establishment.

"The launch went very well, and the beer was lovely," he said.

Chairman of Tolly Cobbold Brewery, John Winn, pulled the first pint, and was followed by a dish of specially prepared Old Strong Casserole.

Old Strong is an ale renowned by connoisseurs for its rich, malty character, with five per cent ABV, and continues the tradition of Tolly Cobbold's reputation for producing quality Cask Conditioned Ales.

Around 40 people were on hand for the first seasonal sup of Old Strong and the response according to all present was a resounding thumbs up.

"All our regulars who came gave the new beer their seal of approval," Mr Punchard added.
