A 17-year-old boy has been charged with robbery after an incident at a skate park in Ipswich.

The robbery reportedly happened about 5.35pm on Monday, June 29 at the skate park in Bridge Street.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking with his bike when two people approached him from behind and demanded his bicycle.

The victim was punched in the head and had his bag taken from his shoulder.

The pair took a gold chain from the bag, before leaving the scene. The victim did not sustain serious injuries.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre to be questioned.

A 21-year-old was released under investigation pending further enquiries, but a 17-year-old boy has been charged with robbery and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court, in Ipswich, today, July 1.
