Brutal attack on four month old cat

POLICE are today appealing for witnesses to a callous and brutal attack on a four month old kitten.

Sooty, had been let out for a walk last Tuesday afternoon but failed to return home.

Sooty, had been let out for a walk last Tuesday afternoon but failed to return home.

He was later found with burns around the face and his lung had been punctured with an unknown instrument.

The little black cat was discovered in the grounds of Gainsborough Sports Centre and was taken to a Cat Rescue Centre but his injuries were so bad that he had to be put down.

Inspector Andy Solomon, from Ipswich Police, said: "We do not know what happened during this attack but it appears that it could be a sickening crime in which an animal suffered greatly.

"If this is the case we would like to apprehend the persons responsible for this crime and would appeal to anyone who may have information relating to this incident to call us as soon as possible."
