TELEPHONE callers contacting Suffolk County Council using the Ipswich BT Phone Book are today warned to be aware of a printing mistake.
The new listings on page 536 highlight the new main number for contacting county council services - 08456 066 067.
Due to an administrative error at BT, some out-of-date numbers are also being shown on page 537 where last year's service list has been reprinted by mistake.
Councillor Sue Sida-Lockett, responsible for customer services and efficiencies, said: “Hopefully people won't be too confused by the double listing in the Ipswich telephone directory.”
Leonie Toal, press relations manager for The Phone Book from BT said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused. This error is being investigated, and I would like to stress that it only affects the Ipswich edition of The Phone Book.”
