The victim of a major road collision in Burstall has been identified as a 19-year-old man from Ipswich.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at 1.10pm on Monday, June 10, to reports of a crash in Hurdle Makers Hill, the A1071, in Burstall.

The man driving the car, a Peugeot 206, died at the scene. He has now been identified as 19-year-old Keaton Whelan from Newnham Court, Ipswich.

The lorry driver sustained minor injuries.

The teenager is the third person to die on Suffolk's roads in just four days, after a motorcyclist and pedestrian were involved in fatal collisions last week.

Craig Bedford, 37, a father-of-two from Ipswich, died on Saturday, June 8 as a result of injuries sustained in a crash on Friday, June 7.

Police were called by the ambulance service just after 7pm to reports of a collision involving a silver Audi A6 and a black Honda motorcycle.

The crash happened at the crossroads with Bell Lane, Kesgrave, and Foxhall Road, Ipswich.

Philip Adams, 32, from Worlington, died at the scene of a collision on the A11 at Barton Mills, also on Friday, June 7.

Officers were called at around 3.50am to reports of a serious crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian on the busy Suffolk road.

Mr Adams, the pedestrian, died at the scene.

Paying tribute to Mr Adams, his family said: "Phil was a much loved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew and grandson who is going to be very, very sadly missed.

"Always loved and in our hearts, 'remember to keep smiling.'"

Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were all sent to the scene on June 7.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations, and was re-opened at 12.15pm.

Witnesses or anyone with any information about the crash in Burstall should contact Suffolk police on 101 quoting reference CAD 189 of June 10.

For the crash at the crossroads with Bell Lane and Foxhall Road, people should quote CAD 355 of June 7, and for the A11 collision, the reference is CAD 24 of June 7.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from any motorists who may have dash cam footage.
