A CYCLIST was injured in a collision with a bus on the A12 today.The collision, which happened on the northbound lane near Benhall just after 10.40am, blocked the road and caused delays for motorists.

A MAJOR road in Suffolk was partly closed today after a collision between a bus and a cyclist.

The cyclist's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening following the crash on the A12 at Benhall, close to Saxmundham.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene shortly after 10.40am and the Lowestoft bound carriageway was brought to a halt.

Mile-long tailbacks stretched along the carriageway as a result of the accident.

Just 20 minutes earlier there was also a two-vehicle collision on the B1438 leading on to the A12 at Ufford, at around 10.20am.

A blue Peugeot 306 crashed with a blue Renault Laguna and the driver of the Renault was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
