Traffic is heavy around the Copdock Interchange this morning after a bus and a lorry crashed on the A14 eastbound exit slip road at junction 55.

Police were called to the scene at around 8.25am to reports the two vehicles had collided on the eastbound approach to the Copdock roundabout.

Both the lorry and bus driver are believed to have suffered minor injuries and an ambulance was not required at the scene.

Recovery has been arranged for both vehicles but the crash has created long delays on the eastbound carriageway as commuters drive into work.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to the eastbound off-slip of the A14 near junction 55 for the Copdock Interchange at around 8.25am.

“The collision was reported as involving a bus and a lorry and the people involved sustained minor injuries.

“An ambulance was not required.”

It is hoped the road will clear within the next 30 minutes – both the bus and lorry are still able to be driven, according to police, so the slip road should re-open fully once they have been moved.
