Two friends from Felixstowe have set up a new online children’s gift business with a unique twist.

‘Not Another Birthday’ was formed by Kate Long and Lucy Sheehan from the town, as an answer to the deluge of birthdays that come up throughout the year.

Ms Long and Ms Sheehan are close friends and both mums to two young children.

It was after their children started primary school and repeatedly came home with yet another party invitation that the business idea was born.

The online store sells themed gift boxes for children aged 3-8.

Themes include ‘the dinosaur box’, ‘the unicorn box’ and ‘the outdoors’ box.

All come carefully wrapped with a personalised message and the box is specially designed so that it can be kept and coloured in by the child.

The gifts are activity-based to encourage active or creative play, and all boxes cost just £20 including postage.

Ms Sheehan said: “We launched Not Another Birthday to solve a problem that we have both faced as mums.

“It takes a lot of time to find thoughtful, unique gifts that you know children will love, and we’re all so busy, so we think we’ve come up with the answer.

“We’ve really enjoyed finding lovely gifts with a difference, and hope that we’ll be of help to lots of mums like us who are inundated with birthdays every year.”
